Events where you can meet Meredith, get your copy of QUARRY signed, and hear about future projects.


Quarry is a trans-generational mystery whose power is drawn from stories and secrets of three generations of Finnish and Irish immigrants to Massachusetts.  As Finland celebrates 100 years of independence, Meredith will launch Quarry at various events showcasing  the international Finnish community and its films, books, arts, and crafts. Here are some events:

  • 11.11.17: The Word Made Flesha speaking engagement and book signing event. Meredith will be joined by Joan Anderson, illustrator, and Robert Spellman, publisher of Mountain Water Press to discuss Quarry and the revival of the illustrated novel. Meet us at Modern Arts Midtown in Omaha from 5p-7p.
  • 9.27.17: Festival Ruska, Hancock, Michigan.  Meredith will be attending much of the festival.  She will be reading and signing copies of Quarry at North Winds Bookstore at Finlandia University from 1-4pm on 9.27.
  • 9.22.17-9.24.17: FinnFest USA, held this year in Minneapolis, MN.  Meredith will be selling Quarry at the festival's Tori marketplace at Orchestra Hall, Peavey Plaza. 
  • 9.13.17-9.17.17:  The Bay Street Film Festival, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Meredith will be presenting Quarry at the Waverley Library, along with other contemporary authors and filmmakers whose work relates to Finnish history and to immigrant experience of various cultures. Schedule of Events
